Health screening, better known as the Executive Check-up, is a way of discovering unrecognized health risks and ailments in persons that are thought to be free of disease in order to prevent their progression to more serious conditions. Health screening is often considered as the cornerstone of disease prevention, and works hand in hand with other ways of avoiding disease like changes in lifestyle, controlling risk factors and vaccination programs.

The Lung Center of the Philippines is now offering a number of Executive Check-up Packages that include the most essential diagnostic procedures to detect at an early stage the most common health conditions and diseases among Filipinos and which are also reasonably and competitively priced compared to other screening packages.


General Guidelines and Procedures
    

1. Admission days for executive Check-ups shall be from Monday to Thursday only. Admitting time is 12:00 noon or later.
2. Clients will be assigned private rooms for the executive check-ups. If the client wishes to occupy a bigger room, he/she will pay extra charge based on the specific room rate.
3. Only Diagnostic tests or procedures included in the package shall be performed during confinement. No additional examinations should be included. If the attending physician should suggest examinations not included in the package, he/she might suggest scheduling it later on following date of patient’s consultation.
4. All the Executive check-up packages will take a day and a half to finish. An outline of the admitting, testing and discharge procedures is attached. Any extension on the length of stay will be subject to additional payment according to the room rate.
5. Any Medicines or any form of therapy are not included in the package. Requests for medicines or therapy shall have to be paid for in cash.
6. Any laboratory test, procedure or consultation not completed for any reason during confinement shall be done on an outpatient basis at no extra charge.
7. Professional fees of specialists for the basic medical consultations are already included under the package.
8. The Executive Check-Up is not subject to any discount, including the Senior Citizen discount, since it is already a discounted package. It is also not covered under any of the benefit packages of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and therefore not subject to Philhealth deductions.
9. All payments are due upon admission. You may pay in cash or by major credit card. Personal checks as payment will not be accepted.
10. Upon completion of all procedures, clients may already be discharged even without orders or notification of the Coordinator or Attending Physician.

Things to remember when preparing for your EXECUTIVE CHECK-UP

1. Avoid eating red meat at least 3 days before your scheduled stool test for occult blood.
2. Bring running suits and footwear if your package includes a cardiac stress test or exercise test.
3. Bring with you a sufficient supply of all your maintenance medications, especially your heart, hypertension, diabetes, asthma or emphysema medications if you’re taking them.
4. Bring your payment for the check-up which is due upon admission. You may pay in cash or by any major credit card.
5. Inform the HFAO clinic or ward nurse if you are under special diet so that it could be given to you during your stay.
